Snowbirds perform an aerial ballet. While other team formation put accent on power or hyper tight flying formation (like the Blue Angels), the Snowbirds use the capabilities of the Tutors for a choreography showing off pilots habilities and precision flying in group formations and solo flight.

Talent demonstrated with elegance.

Bravo!

One thing strikes me with the Snowbirds is their flying pattern in regard to the spectators. No one-on-one with a plane flying towards the crowd. No flying over the crowd. I think this is on purpose. Other teams use these flying techniques not the Snowbirds and this takes nothing away to the show.

The white smoke trail produced a times during the show comes from diesel fuel stored in tanks below the plane. On pilot command, the diesel flows to diffusors and the rear of the engine exhaust. It vaporises and produces a white smoke under the intense heat from the engine outlet.
