- The English Ladie -
Here's a plane which I have always found to be elegant. It made regular flights to Montréal in the 60's.
The Vickers Super VC-10 distinguished itself by being one of two rear engined four jet airliners, the other (same size) being the Ilyushin Il-62. It too came to Montreal at the same period. Both planes were put into service the same year, 1963.

The first picture in this serie of 4 was taken at Dorval in 1973. Despite its poor quality, it remained the only picture I had of a Jetstar. The three other pictures were taken at the Canada Aviation Museum in Ottawa. It was kind of a "back to the future" experience... |
