Building a Pelican (June 18th 2001, part 1)

June 18th 2001

Week 51 of our follow-up of the building of a Pelican Sport from Ultravia Aero International Inc.

I enter my office right after lunch. The message indicator on my phone is flashing. A message from Luc is recorded at ten past noon. He says the first flight is due at half past noon...

I call back Luc. He tells me they will finally take off at half past one. I just may have time to get there on time (at least I hope so).

I approach the airport The clock indicates half past one.... As I take the last curve towards the airport on the highway, I see a small white plane taking off. It's going to fly real close. I can read the call letters... C...G...I...I...X.

So we will forget the fist take off pictures. But I should arrive in time to see it in flight...
