Building a Pelican (March 29th 2001, part 1)

March 29th 2001

Week 38 of our follow-up of the building of a Pelican Sport from Ultravia Aero International Inc.

Parts are back Thursday.

A visit to the hangar after talking to Luc in the morning. Parts are back. Each has been carefully individually wrapped for transport..

Parts are back
Martin Cinq-Mars and Daniel Durocher Martin Cinq-Mars and Daniel Durocher
What are Martin Cinq-Mars and Daniel Durocher up to? They are water sanding parts...
Martin Cinq-Mars and Daniel Durocher White or WHITE?
What went wrong?
Simple (but not the consequence), Christian has been talking for weeks of his snowy white plane he dreams about. But when came the time to buy the paint, in the exhiliration of the moment, he did not realize that white paint comes in an almost infinite range of colors...

The result is too offwhite... they finally agreed to paint it over again. But this cannot be done without proper preparation of all parts surfaces...

(please note that in the animated picture above right, the original picture does not render the exact paint color. With the white paint on, the fact that I work without a flash is beginning seriously to show. But the Photoshop touch-up adequately shows the result hoped for compared to waht was obtained.)

I find them very courageous and quite straight-forward in this adventure...
