Week 17 of our follow-up of the building of a Pelican Sport from Ultravia Aero International Inc.

Southco Quarter Turn Fastener

The hood is held together with "Southco" Quarter Turn Fasteners.

An inside view of the hood parts still held together. You can see the receptacle fixed to the inside . On the left, the "stud" is solidly in place. On the image below, a stud almost completely turned 90 degrees. The parts could be separated.

The "Southco" fasteners above are used with parts that must be opened or taken apart periodically.

The hood itself is maintained in place on the fuselage with more "permanent" fasteners like this screw inserted in a receptacle fixed to a metal anchor on the firewall. (picture on the right)

Each part is numbered or inserted in a numbered bag by the manufacturer.
